Back to the Basics- AKA Black and White

Hey Guys!
Here a few of my favorite newly added black and white photographs. I especially like the last one of the house... it looked creepy in color, but a lot scarier in black and white.
Hope you enjoy!

Lord Salisbury Marching Band Competition

This past weekend at Catawba College, the school hosted the Lord Salisbury Marching Band Competition where High Schools in and around the area competed for first place. I was able to go and take a few photos of the event, and let me tell you, there are some talented people in these parts!

(Yes, they are playing the trombone with their feet!)

Back to School and the Pictures keep COMING!

Yes, back to school time has arrived again.... and for basically the last time ever!

That's right, I am graduating this year...which is a mind trip in itself, but I have not forgotten my lovely photos.

As I've mentioned before I have been taking a Photography class for the last 2 months and it has been a BLAST! I've learned things I didn't think was possible to do without the aid of photoshop.

For instance - Car Trails!

(Stunning, right?)

And Ghosting!

(Awkward?)

(Hehe, she fell.)

And Light Effects!

(It's a star!)

And how to make water look like it's moving!

(Don't tell me that's not just too cool!)

And many many other little tricks that will be used in the future. It has been such a joy to get that sort of hands on training. And now I'm SUPER excited about the future.

(P.S. I 've also signed up for a Portrait class coming up this September! YAY FACES!)

Well, thanks for sticking around!

And don't forget to see the site (if you haven't already)!

Okay My Loyal Followers

The day has finally come when I can say that the pictures from the wedding are finally posted.

It was a long day (of the wedding) and has had a lot of long days and nights afterwards trying to edit the photos, not to mention making 8 DVD movies of the event. (Can someone say Headache?)

But it was a GORGEOUS wedding with a very lucky couple.

So if you would like to see the photos, please go Napiecek Wedding as there are lots of photos and not that much time to post them.

I've also made it so that you can now purchase the photos (fancy!).

So, after a long week or so I can now say that they are up and ready to be seen! I love them, and hope you do too!

Also, school starts back up soon, so expect to see articles and pics from my newspaper.

THANKS!!!

Man, This Stuff Is Made For The MOUNTAIN GOATS!

Okay, yes. I know I promised you wedding photos, but 7000 photos takes a LOOOONNNG time to sort through and edit. And after 4 days of almost constant editing, I needed a little "Day-Cay"(Day-Vacation).

So, my mother, Emily, and I headed to the NC Mountains. And we headed out EARLY- like 7AM (again, those who do not find that early, we do not need your comments... it's EARLY!). And after a few detours we finally made it to our first stop: Grandfather Mountain and the home of the "Mile High Bridge".

Now let me just give you some background information. I am terrified of heights. Well, actually, more of a fear of falling. (AKA, I LOVE Rollercoasters, HATE Drop Zones.) So for me to come to the Mile High Bridge is a HUGE accomplishment. And I walked it. Yes. I walked across a bridge that was exactly 5,280 feet off of the ground. Did I look down? No. Did I even stop once I started walking? Not at all. I basically waited until NO ONE else was on the bridge looked straight ahead and didn't stop until there was solid earth beneath me.

Then once on the other side of the bridge you can basically climb to the top while on the EDGE of a mountain. My cousin Emily didn't think twice and foolishly just went climbing away like a little stupid monkey. I had to stop so that I could feel my legs and then I realized I could no longer see her and had to go off in search of her. So after a few TERRIFYING minutes I reach the top. However, I do not see my cousin ANYWHERE! She had climbed down to a cliff and was sitting there. (Wanted to shoot her.) (P.S. My chicken mother didn't even cross the bridge. I mean, COME ON, I DID!)
(There's Em)
(There's my mom... big chicken)
(Yup, my mom again... WAYYYY over there!)

After that we went to the Grandfather Mountain Nature Habitat. There we saw bears, deer, otters, and a cougar.

Then we travelled to Blowing Rock, which after Grandfather mountain, isn't nearly as terrifying, though still beautiful.

Then to round off our trip we trekked over to Chimney Rock. And we had to go on some CURVY roads. (One in particular was my favorite.)

And once we got there we took the elevator to the top (THANK YOU!), we went out to the look-out point. Although after only 20 minutes there, a worker came up to us and told us that the park had lost power and we might want to go down the elevator soon so that we don't get stuck on top of the mountain. (You better believe we left right then and there.)

Only to find out that some tree a couple minutes outside town had fallen on the power lines. Thanks tree for cutting my time short.

Well, we made it safely off the mountains and I can say that I conquered a small piece of my fear- I CLIMBED A MOUNTAIN or 3!
